Awareness Campaign being conducted by Sharjah Medical District and the UAE Ministry of Health
Sharjah, UAE, June 22nd 2009: With the outbreak of the H1N1 in various parts of the world and it being declared as an epidemic, the need to educate the public about the flu is gaining importance. To achieve this objective, the Sharjah Medical District in conjunction with the UAE Ministry of Health has -started an awareness campaign in Sahara Centre, Sharjah.
The ongoing campaign is being held every evening from 5 to 9 pm on the ground floor of the mall and will run for a month for the time being. The campaign is in-line with the national programme for emergency medical response against H1N1 and other flu related diseases in the country.
The campaign will include distribution of printed material and airing audio-visual programmes held under the supervision of specialists and in accordance with international health standards.
Rima Chammas, Marketing Manager, Sahara Centre said, “We at Sahara Centre have always believed in community initiatives. Spreading awareness about H1N1 is a very important task and we are privileged to be part of it. We are thankful to the Sharjah Medical District and the Ministry of Health for organising this in our mall to educate the mall visitors”.
